I have a newly installed Small Business Server 2008 server which comes with IIS 7.0 and Exchange 2007 (all 64-bit of course). I have a classic ASP web site that uses CDOSYS to send mail from the web site. Everything is on one box - SBS, Exhange and IIS.

The web site was previously running on a WinXP (32-bit) box using IIS 5.1 and it connected to a freeware SMTP engine (MailEnable) and it ran fine with no problems so I'm pretty sure the code is OK.

Everything on the new site works as previously except that the mail is not going through. I have set the "cdoSMTPServer" to the IP address of the server (the server the ASP site runs on) and "cdoSMTPAuthenticate=cdobasic" and  "cdoSendUserName" and "cdoSendPassword" to appropriate values (i.e. my domain user name and password). I'm guessing that the problem is a relay issue with Exchange but I can't seem to figure out exactly why the mail is not being sent.

There is nothing in any of the exchange log files that gives any clues - not even access denied stuff.

Any help as to a fix or how to go about figuring out what is going on will be appreciated.

Hi,

Does mail go to internet also when you relay message from CDOSYS ??. If yes then you need to create one new recieve connector to send message via your exchange.

if relaying from CDOSYS is for only your exchange hosted users then please check whether you have enabled "Ananymous permission" on default reciev connector in exchange 2007.
