My system with windows vista does not connect to internet
 Am uisng a intel AGN wireless card. The router signals are  compatible with my card. everytime when trying to connect to internet, the system shows unidentified network and does not connect to internet. The LAN connection works. Wifi works on a system with windows XP and same system configuration.

Disconnect from the unidentified network, then recycle your router and before attempting to connect to the router again make your settings static and turn off NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

To further help you understand the issue at hand:  Unidentified network is windows default conclusion to a dhcp assignment to your modem/router.  It usually has something to do with services and processes running parallel sessions using hotstart impersonating you.  it is the default dhcp assignment from your internal dhcp subnet due to your isp dhcp refusing to issue two or more lease's to the same computer and user.  setting up a static address configuration for your network adapter before activating the network adapter to connect to the network/internet avoids this problem and turning off netbios further more singles your true user session to the mainframe.  anything manually configured to a cpu no matter what its authority level is will identify a console/human user, and depending on how well you are at configuring determines the love the SYSTEM will have for you.  This is all normal and routine system behavior, it's just a matter of bad timing or bad luck, whichever you prefer.
