In SharePoint 2013, when we view "Site Contents", below is the view we see. sometimes, I have to hunt for what I am looking for. Is there a way I can make this page look more like SP 2010 or SP 2007 where they are organized by list and library type?

Hello,

If you are using Office 365, there is an option to switch to new Modern UI for list and libraries. to enable this you have to login on your tenant as administrator and update settings. For more information on this visit https://support.office.com/en-us/article/The-SharePoint-Site-Contents-page-ba495c1e-00f4-475d-97c7-b518d546566b?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

If you are working on SharePoint On-Premise then, as of now there is no out of the box option available for the same, I hope in SP 2016 CU update / service pack this feature will be introduced by Microsoft.
