I know there are a lot of users here that use timesheets in project server (2010 or 2013). I am assuming that most of you have also developed reports that pull actual hours from the timesheet. I have developed several reports that does this, but have always ran into issues where if the reporting sync fails, the reports show incorrect data. Also have seen many issues where if the resource goes ahead and updates the timesheet after the 'status updates' have been approved.

I was trying to search a place where Microsoft or someone has a detailed article on how data from the timesheet is updated in the reporting database (different results for different scenarios). Like how is the reporting tables updated when the resources recalls, makes changes to the timesheet and then resubmits it as opposed to how the reporting database is updated when the user has only submitted his/hers status updates, but then goes ahead and changes the time on those tasks.
