It just gets stuck at Microsoft.VisualStudio.CoreEditor installation. I tried everything, deleting the 2017 folder, re-downloading the installer. Removing registry entries.
Nothing works. The logs in %temp% folder too doesn't show anything, after some time the logs too stop getting updated.
I wonder how to solve this.

We haven’t enough info to diagnose your issue for the moment.
As a prerequisite, you need run exe as admin, make sure all Windows Updates is up and date, disable anti-virus software and clean up %temp% folder.
In general, Microsoft.VisualStudio.CoreEditor package failed indicates that your machine was unable to download required packages from our CDN. This could have been a temporary server outage at the time you were installing, or a systemic issue with your proxy settings. Please verify that you are able to reach the urls in your error report and ensure they can be successfully download to your machine. If it is installed in your machine, just re-run the command line or installer (It depends on what your situation).
