I am setting up a project using the automatic scheduling. First defining the tasks, than each of their duration (in days), the dependencies (Predecessors) and eventually assign resources. However when I look at the plan (gantt chart) and in the task chart it shows a really odd planning. Usually the first day of the tasks the resource is only assigned e.g. 7 hours instead of 8 hours as it is correctly done for the previous days of same task (and resource). That gives funny results, as e.g. a 5 day tasks that starts on a Monday doesn't finish on the Friday but the following Monday (1 hour still to be done). I've tried a few thing to get this fixed, but totally unsuccessfully and getting quite desperate. I do not understand how to get this (which was straight forward in previous versions) to work.. ;-) Thanks for your help!!

how did you setup 7hrs duration within your project professional? your project calendar timings and numbers of hours should match project professional settings. Go to File->options->schedule tab and configure the number of hours and start and end time.
