I installed these 2 applications.

Now when I click on "about" I see this message

I tried to repair SSDT - no result

I open VS 2017 in safe mode.  When I clicked on "about" I did not see this message.  Therefore I have to uninstall/reinstall some packages or completely SSDT???

I also installed MS SQL Server Management Studio 17

"The 'Microsoft Data Transformation Services Designer' package did not load correctly.

The problem may have been caused by a configuration change or but the installation of another extension. You can get more information by examing the files 'C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\15.0_86b5ba80\ActivityLog.xml'.

Restarting Visual Studio could help resolve this issue.

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

When you run VS as safe mode, the warning message doesn’t show there. In my view, the result and "the message" both indicates that Microsoft Data Transformation Services Designer have missing or corrupted in cause to block.

• So I recommend you go to Tool - Extension and Updates – to uninstall extensions one by one, for that you can find out which extension caused this issue.
• Then uninstall your SSDT.
• Check this similar thread: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/355072/microsoft-data-transformation-services-designer-no.html . as it said, to uninstall Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services from Visual Studio. Then downloaded latest SSDT installation, download SSDT could refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssdt/download-sql-server-data-tools-ssdt?view=sql-server-2017 .

Meanwhile, please navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\15.0_86b5ba80\ActivityLog.xml. try to check the ActivityLog.xml, if you don’t know how to pick up a few useful info there, you could upload the XMl file to https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link here. I willing to help you diagnose it.

BTW, you’d better share this link of report to MS a week ago.
