Then ensure you have a backup of your projects but it is unlikely that VS will cause a problem. Then try to open a project; it is likely VS can do the conversion. If it does fail then perhaps you can create a project by using "File" | "New" | "From Existing Code...". If that does not work then you will need to create a new project then migrate (move) the source files into it.
