Hi All

I am looking at a TFS 17 on-premise installation and I'm trying to understand the relation

of the TFS server to Git. Our IT department already runs a Git server and I am trying to

understand if we can use the existing Git server with TFS and if so, what are the configuration steps.

I cannot find any references to TFS + GIT config in the installation guide.

Any advise/pointers.

Thank you for posting here.

Which kind of Git server did you run? TFS have its own Git by default, you do not need to configure it during the installation. You just need to select Git version control type when you create the team project:

But you could use the feature in build system to integrate external Git Repository(like SVN, BitBucket) with TFS, then TFS could pull code from the external repo and build with it. For more information, you could refer to the following link:
