I have just switched from frontpage 2003 to expression 4. For some reason, when I publish, all my files show that they have been updated and no error messeges occur, but the site simply does not update. I checked the public folder on my ftp site and it shows that there is nothing there! is there some setting I am missing here?

Just a thought but have you checked that EW is actually publishing to the public folder on your hosting account. For example many of my domains have a folder path of domain.com/public_html and if you don't put that folder path in EW will publish to the same root level as domain.com.
