I created a BAM 'activity' & 'view' in excel, exported them in XML format and deployed them. When I try to see the 'view' by opening the BAM Portal website I am receiving an error saying "An unspecified error has occured". On referring to the Application log event viewer, it says:

So I can't say forsure that you have this same problem, but this is a problem that I encountered when setting up BAM a while back. We implemented BAM on a single web server(no BizTalk on server), it was Win 2k3.
So proceed with caution and see iff the Symptoms described in article are similar to yours before applying. For us, the workaround was suffice.
