as you will be aware, the project center has a check box allowing you to display sub-projects; can this automatically be ticked for all users - or even for individual users?

I can't see anything in server or site settings. Can this be done easily - or would it require a registry tweak?

No you cant do this out of the box, you could potentially customise the Project Center ribbon to do this if needed. Once a user checks the sub projects checkbox, this will remain on for that user until they uncheck the checkbox if that helps.
