Upgraded from TFS 2015 Update 3 to TFS 2017. Activated new WIT forms. They work fine. Trying to customize them however when I export them with witadmin I get the xml for the 2015 versions.

Am I missing something here? Followed instructions in Customizing the work item tracking web form MSDN page to the letter.

Hi Brett,

Thank you for posting here.

During the upgrade the Configure Features Wizard will pop up and it requires that specific work item types, workflow states, and fields are defined in the process template objects and process configuration. The upgrade will not override the pervious WITs, especially the customized ones.
