We currently develop our industrial applications with Visual C++.net for many years.  We are starting to see Visual C#.net being required for Windows Compact Edition mobile devices such as a mobile bar code reader.  What is the vision going forward with C++ and C#?  From what I have gathered reading articles C++ is more powerful controlling hardware while C# is more structured (protective).  Where is the direction going and why?  Please advise.  Thank you in advance!

It is a difficult problem.  The Visual C++ programming language and development tools help you develop native Universal Windows apps, native desktop and server applications, cross-platform libraries that run on Android and iOS as well as Windows, and managed apps that run on the .NET Framework.

As far as I know that if you want to use C++ language, you might not use the .NET Framework. but the C# language need to use the .NET Framework.
