Using Expression Encoder 4  on WinXP x32 and Win 7 x64. I have wmv's that are archives of a weekly live stream created by Windows Media Encoder 9 (320x240, Video: 299kbps 25fps CBR WMV9, Audio: 32 kbps 44kHz mono WMA9.2)  .   I need to spit the archives to trim it down.   I simply import the WMV, trim out the beginning and end, set the Output Format video and audio to "Source" and encode.

The audio in the resulting file has a lot of drop outs, the audio is broken up.   The video is fine.   This is occurring with all of the files and any new ones.  I tried encoding with the video as source, and re-encoding the audio, but the result is worse, causing corruption in the entire file, both video and audio.  Re-encoding both the audio and video (two pass CBR 500 kpbs vid and 32bps mono audio) results in a file that is correct, but takes over two hours to complete.
