I am new to using MS project 2010. I would like to allocate the one resource (person) to complete a task that takes 30 hours over a 1 week time period.  MS project automatically spreads the  hours evenly across the week, is there a way for MS project to allocate the hours unevenly i.e. 10 hours on day one, 8 hours on day 2 and no hours on day 3 etc

Yep. With the Gantt chart active, show details to split the screen.

Click in the lower half and display the task Usage View. Task usage shows all resources for the selected task in the top window pane.

在顶部窗格中选择要编辑的任务，然后在"任务分配状况"视图中编辑每天的小时数。

Select the task you want to edit in the top pane, then edit the hours per day in the Task Usage View.

注意：您需要调整顶部窗格中的时间刻度以逐日显示。
