I am using Project 2010 (not Server) and my Program Managers are asking for a report that should seem very simple but I can't figure out how to make Project display the data I need. I need a task usage view display to group the tasks first by WBS and then by resource
I've grouped them in task usage view by WBS.
The next step is, for example, to rollup the resource Engineer1 under each WBS that it appears. So far I have the following
WBS12345 Design Code Plan Engineer1 hours 50 50
WBS12345 Write Code Engineer1 hours 50 100 50
WBS12345 Test Code Metrics Engineer1 hours 25 25
What I'd like it to do is:

This works when only one resource is assigned but I'd have many tasks with multiple resources and I don't know how to separate them.

For whatever reason the WBS field is not available as a grouping field in the Task Usage view. Therefore for my sample file I copied the contents of the WBS field to Text1 and then used Text1 as the first grouping criteria. For the second criteria, namely the Resource Names field, check the option to group by assignments not tasks. That allows you to select the assignment field as the field type for the second criteria.
See if that process does what you need.
