Hello, I have an odd-ball question that I'd like to ask and couldn't find a more appropriate forum so I'm posting it in the "General" forum:

I'm writing a .NET (full framework) WPF application. This application will run on a computer that is physically connected via Ethernet cable to an external piece of equipment. The application will make use of an SDK from the external equipment manufacturer that will control the equipment via the Ethernet connection. In addition to that, I need my WPF application to simultaneously communicate/receive data via the wireless network card to a remote machine (actually a HoloLens). Is this possible? Can an application simultaneously use both a physical Ethernet connection AND a WiFi connection to send/receive data?

Yes this is definitely possible. At least when these connections are to distinct networks (like, to a internet gateway and a private network).

Addition:  Some laptops may automatically disable wi-fi when connected to ethernet. This is a vendor's option (software utility or BIOS setting), not how Windows behaves by default.
