I imported 24 bit images  of size 36x18 for a toolbar. Now this toolbar is having 2 images.I could not select a  toolbar button and could not get its properties window and set prompt text using visual studio 2008 resource editor.

Sorry that I don't have vs2008 in my computer. I tested in my vs2015, you could follow these steps to add toolbar button with your 24 bit images, then you could set prompt text for this toolbar button.
