Hi,

I'm new to Expression blend and I'm trying to prototype a screen for an assignment that I have.  Basically, I would like to have 2 listboxes.  The first listbox contains a list of libraries.  The second list box contains the books for each library.  I want to prototype the effect of clicking on and item in listbox 1 and displaying the contents of that library in listbox 2.  Since this is a prototype, i'm just using sample data in both list boxes.  Actually I have several listboxes that represent the data in listbox 2 and I would like to change the Opacity of each when a user clicks on different items in listbox 1.  Any suggestions?

Hello, fellow newbie!

I just started tinkering around with Expression Blend yesterday, and really enjoy it.  One way that I'm approaching the learning process is to look through the forum and try out things people need help with.  I *think* I have a solution for you, but am not positive.

The basic approach I took was this:

• add listbox with three listboxitems
• added three rects with different background colors (in place of your other listboxes)
• set the initial opacity of the three listboxes to 0
• created 6 events -- 2 for each listboxitem.  One is triggered when the listboxitem is selected, and the other is triggered when the listboxitem is unselected.
• created 3 storyboards -- 1 for each listboxitem, and sets the opacity to 100 at 0.5 seconds into the timeline
