I'm developing a system (client - server) where I need some sort of user management / login thing. Additionally those users need access to some files. Now... I'm not sure what is the better solution for this. What do you think should I use?
1) Windows users (could this be a security problem, if I don't put them into a group? ... I don't see how this account could be used for something)
2) my own system (e.g. Database, check permissions myself)
... in case 1) I could impersonate the user and use it for file access and things like that. In case 2) I've to do it myself... but, I don't know. Are there advantages/disadvantages of those solutions? ... currently I think I should use Windows users... but, wanted to hear what you think.
Maybe it's getting a bit tricky if the system will get distributed over multiple servers. But... maybe here AD is the solution?

I think I could use my own system. it is convenient for controlling the software development.
If you are worried about impersonating, You could try to encode for these user, for the different user, I can assign different rights.
