For several years we have several CodePlex GIT repositories. It's been always difficult to commit and push and it is very slow.

We already use Visual Studio Online for one of our Web Applications and I wonder if we should move our Desktop applications to Visual Studio Online as well. But we need to retain the GIT history. Is this possible?
And we have a C# and C++ desktop application. Can we use Contentious Build for these as well or is CD/CI for Web Applications only?
Does VSO offer a 'Download installers'-page?

Greetings.
There’s no problem with git history: just you  have to set a new remote on their repo and the whole history will be uploaded.

If you use the new build engine, the build output will be presented as a build. you can have multiple outputs like one for the web project and one for the client.
