Our church website has a prayer petition page that is being bombed by hundreds of e-mails a day of different products being offered for sale. You have fallen victim, unfortunately, to what is known in the blogging world as "comment spam." While your site is not the same as a blog which accepts comments, the mechanism by which petitions are submitted is similar, which leaves it open to exploitation by all of the low-life, scum-sucking, witless twits in the world who prefer taking advantage of innocents to earning a real living.

I wish I could give you a simple, straightforward answer to your problem. Many in the blogging world, when hit by such attacks, simply close their comments. That would not seem to be an option in your case, given the nature of your ministry. Regrettably, there is nothing in Expression Web fitted to address this issue. All I can suggest as a start is that you google "comment spam prevention" and see if any of the solutions offered may work for you.

One of them, CAPTCHA, is at least largely successful at stopping automated bots that cruise the Web perpetrating this ____, but accomplishes nothing against the human excrement that manually propagates it. Do the research; there is much information available and many alternative approaches to solutions which may enable you to combat the exploitation while maintaining your ministry. If you find one or more solutions that you would like to employ, we may be able to help you to implement them. I wish you good fortune in your efforts.
