I've been developing an application for Outlook 2010 using the VSTO so users can quickly access any folders on their account and the public folders on the exchange server. To do this, I have the plugin map the directory path of the folders to a button, and have it looked up when ever a user accesses the folder. So far, I've gotten it all to work nicely but I am getting problems when I try to access the public folders with multiple exchange accounts in Outlook. In the case where there are multiple users (i.e. administrator, normal user) configured, Outlook seems to automatically map the public folders to the first exchange account that becomes active from selection. This in turn also causes the public folder to no longer be mapped to the associated user, but the other user despite having it being explicitly specified in the directory path saved.

So far, I do not think that it is a problem if all users are given the same access permissions for viewing/editing, but I am concerned of what happens if there are public folders that have different permissions for specific users. For example, if I have an admin account and a user account, and the user account is automatically selected, then any folders that have admin viewing permissions will not be open for access by the admin user. Is there anyway for me to configure the explicit mapping of these public folders through code or Outlook settings?
