newitem.aspx opening into the popup, so where do I need to add Content editor webpart. While opening newitem form, I need to autopopulate current user Name into sigle line text field

Hi,

Go to your list settings-> Advanced Settings, set the Dialogs as No and save, then go to the ‘Form Web Parts’ (in list view) you want to insert JavaScript script, now you could add webpart to page and insert the script.

Click ‘Stop Editing’ to save, after you test your script runs successfully, you could revert list form to open in dialog model.
