I've had this before, after yes it said it removed an object (which it actually didn't) but the useful thing was that it specified the index number of the sheet that the item was on - and it was a corrupted control (option buttons) that were the offending items. After deleting the option buttons myself, the error never appeared again.

I was never able to get any option buttons working on that sheet (annoyingly) without the error returning - but I got round it by using a list box instead.
