Has anyone else noticed or has this problem? We create Master files which we apply metadata templates and custom field annotations to. Then we create cropped versions and finally derivatives like jpegs. Normally the metadata would remain with the file at all stages but we have noticed that we are loosing metadata after the master stage. We have recently upgraded from iView Media Pro 3 to Expression Media 2.We are using Expression 2 and XP SP2.

Could you please fill in a little more information? What file format are your Master files? Are you cropping in Expression Media? How are you creating the deravitives? (Using convert image files?) There are some issues with annotations not being converted with the files, which is one of the things I have on my watch list for future development.

Assuming that you are keeping the file name constant, one workaround for you might be to use the script copy annotations from files with same name. Using this script, you select the file with all the annotations - NOT the others. In fact, you can select several files with annotations.

When you run the script, any files with the same name but different extensions, or files with exactly the same name but different paths get all the annotations copied into them.
