We have set up SharePoint 2013 and configured the search service. We have also created a site collection for mysites and a couple of other site collections. If I search for content contained in my mysite or one of the other site collections, there are no results. However, if search for this same content in the root site collection, it does return results. I have the "Allow this site to appear in search results" flag set to Yes, but still no results. Is there some configuration option I am missing?

Is the search account been granted the "Full Read" user policy permission against all the web applications crawled and indexed by the Search service application?
Did you check the configuration settings of the Search content sources?
