I had trouble running Express on a 64 bit machine.  I got it fixed at the bottom of this thread (I really only needed the last few entries so you don't need to read it all).  Worth checking I suppose.  That Process Monitor Program to watch for problems 5 entries from the bottom is pretty cool and might help.  It helped diagnose my problem.
