I'm trying to install VS2017 with the UWP tools selected during the install. When I do that it compeltes with a warning saying it could not install the UWP tools. More info in the log below. I've tried unistalling all other versions of Visual Studio including using the complete uninstaller on GitHub (). All I can think was that several weeks ago I had to revert my machine back an update as it keeps crashing when I try and run the Creators update. I'm running the latest build prior to when Creators came out. Maybe the rollback is affecting something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Checking the log and find the following error information>

>>Returncode details: Theolder version of vs_tipsmsi cannot be removed.

Seems that you installed the previous UWP components, it leads to the failure of the newer version.

Please try steps as below:

1. Go to Control Panel—Programs and Features, if there has ‘Microsoft Visual Studio 2017’, right click it and choose ‘Uninstall’

2. Try to delete the following installed folders.

3. Go to the folder: %ProgramData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio and delete the ‘Packages’ folder and ‘Setup’ folder

4. Go to the Visual Studio installation folder (normally under %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio) and delete the folder ‘2017’

After that, make sure windows update is up-to-date, clean up the %temp% folder and temporarily disable any antivirus software, reboot the computer and re-run the VS 2017 RTM installer as administrator again.
