I am working on an internet radio app for windows phone 7.
I've been adding "Stream.mp3" to my shoutcast url in order to get the stream as an mp3 file eg. "http://00.00.00.00:0000/; file.mp3". This is working fine on my windows phone 7 and also on Emulator 7.1.
However, I tried testing it on Windows phone 8 emulator and wp8 phones and it is not working.

Any idea what is happening?

The most likely reason for this is that the network path for both the WP8 emulator and phone device is disassociated from your PC. They behave as stand alone internet entities.

If you are attempting to stream from your PC to your phone, you need to supply the phone with the IP address of your computer as it appears to the shared local internet.

Note that a standalone phone needs to be connected to your local WiFi access point which your PC is also on, and with DHCP enabled.
