Hi,

I'm trying to build a custom preview handler using the RecipePreviewHandler sample from the SDK. I had no problems building it but unfortunately it is not showing any preview at all. The preview pane just stays empty (the text "no preview available" disappers).
Does anyone have any experience with preview handlers (not using managed code). Has anyone tried to compile the example?


I tested the preview handler by integrating it in a small test app. I was able to query for the needed interfaces (IPreviewHandler, IInitializeWithStream) and it was working fine. Maybe there is some error with the registration in the windows registry. Any ideas? Does anyone know what prevhost.exe does internally?

I just tried building the RecipePreviewHandler sample that shipped in the Windows SDK for Windows 7.  I had the same result that you reported here, when building on Windows 7 and also on Vista, using Visual Studio 2008.  I’m not sure what the problem is.  I’ll contact the group that submitted this sample to the Windows SDK and see if someone there can help you.  Please give me a few days.
