I am managing some table data, currently in excel, that I sort and filter based on what type of data I'm working with.

However, I want to build a knowledge base on each of the systems.

Ideally, I would use a Wiki, insert a table (that is sort-able and filter-able) to manage the system list view, but then create links on the system names, that will generate another wiki page to build content specific to that application.

Right now I see no other way then managing both, an excel spreadsheet and a separate wiki.

For your requirement, I suggest you create a SharePoint List to store the table data. SharePoint lists could be sorted and filtered.

Then in the list, create a lookup column which link to your wiki pages library.

When you create an item in the list, in the lookup column, select the related wiki page's property.
