i am having so much trouble installing VS 2017. 

Everytime I install it, and go to file >> new >> 

The new website or any of the asp.net or MVC are all missing, I have reinstalled it over and over again and still having the exact same problem

when I re-launch, I get the notification: VS completed with errors

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Sounds like that the web application templates didn't install well.

Firstly, please run the VS 2017 installer as administrator>Continue>Modify, check if you installed Asp.net and web development components， please apply to them compeletely：

Then run the installer to perform a repair, reboot your machine and restart VS to see if everything works fine.

Tips: Check Windows update and make them to the newest and run VS as administrator.

If error persists, you'd better use  http://aka.ms/vscollect to gather the installation logs. find vslogs.zip from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to Onedrive and share the link here. I will help you find the root cause according to the log file.
