hello,

did you change the version number in the update?  the version number is part of the add-in's identity, so any updates should increment the version. 

also, Excel keeps track of which add-ins are installed by reading the registry.  if you are comfortable with working in the registry, you can go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins and delete the old registry keys for the previously installed add-in.  this is documented in Registry Entries for Application-Level Add-Ins.
