Maybe I am not the first asking that question but well... I did not find any solution.

I read the documentation and it says: "Windows Phone Emulator is a component of the Windows Phone SDK.". That's all. Nothing else. So, I am still wondering why I do not have the possibility to select a Windows Phone Emulator before debugging. Do I have to install something else?

I downloaded a sample for Windows Phone 7... and there it is: The emulator for Windows Phone 7. So, there must be some emulator installed on my computer. But not for Windows Phone 8 (and I am developing for Windows Phone 8 and my app runs on my very real Windows Phone 8).

Has anyone of you an idea how I can get out of this labyrinth?
