I was just 'volunteered' by my boss to be the departmental SharePoint site owner. I have no training....

I need to update the Org chart for the department. The last Admin in our group quit on no notice. He had an Org chart link on the screen. When clicking it opened directly to the org chart itself. So when I received the new Org chart PDF file, I went into Site Contents, opened the Org chart and replaced the old file with my new PDF file and deleted the old file. Now when I click on the Org Chart link on our Homepage, it just goes to the list with the file. I can click the file form there to open the chart by that is not god enough for my boss.

So my question is how do I get the Org Chart on the Homepage to directly open the file when clicking it instead of taking me to the list? Any help is much appreciated!

Hi Kmark23

If you are using SharePoint Online, go to where the PDF exists in the library and click it to open on the browser and copy the URL.

• Select the Gear to 'Edit Page'
• Add text and highlight it.
• Select the INSERT tab
• Select the 'Link" dropdown and choose from Address
• Paste URL.
