We experienced when use numbers (part of file name with space before text. ) as query in "Find file" search box above the library fails to find the file, e.g. enter "11238799" in query box to find file with this name "11238799 Deposit Slip"

We verified the file does exist in the lib. However for some files kind of query did find the right files. 

I can't see any pattern of this behaviour. But just wonder how the search engine crawls the file name (with space between number and text)

Appreciate any tips?

Hi QuickLaunch,

Per my test in my SharePoint 2013, I create file named "11238799 Deposit Slip", then upload the file to the document library. And then run a full crawl in search service application, then I can find the file if I search "11238799" in find a file search box.

To troubleshoot the issue, check things below:

1. Check if there is error in the crawl log.

2. Re-run a full crawl in search service application.

3. Re-index the document library. Go to library settings->advanced settings->Re-index the document library
