There is uncertainty on ourside how TAPI is really organized in Vista. The downloadable SDK's on the website is 3.1 and suitable for Windows 2000 and XP. However, there is no information that it is compatible or incompatible with Vista. We like to know how TAPI is done in Vista, which SDK and tools are required to do this.

We did find some info but that makes us wonder if TAPI is still supported. It appears that there are major changes to the TAPI way of interfacing between CRM systems and (IP)phones. This is not really a reply to your query. The point is that I am facing exactly the same problem as you have mentioned in your thread above. i.e Is TAPI 3.1 supported on Windows Vista or not?

Two main factors for this confusion are:
1) http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms734184.aspx
This link states that  Rendezvous IP Telephony Conferencing controls and interfaces are not available for use in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and subsequent versions of the operating system. The RTC Client API provides similar functionality.

Andreas Marchall ( Andreas Marschall is a TAPI / TSP Developer and Tester since 1997.
His contribution to the TAPI newsgroups has been recognized by Microsoft® with MVP Awards for TAPI / Windows® SDK in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.) in his site states that

"Note that TAPI 3.1 is only available on Windows® XP and Windows® Server 2003 and Windows® Vista^TM"
