We’re migrating from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint Online and encountered problem when using
Quick Edit in SharePoint Online which is different from
Datasheet View SharePoint 2007. Please help and give us advice.
Behind the scenes: System provides a view that using column Status to filter to user.
E.g:

Scenario: User uses Datasheet View for bulk items editing. They also need to sort/filter during modification because the keyed in value may wrong and they need to double check.
Issue: The Datasheet View in SharePoint 2007 works fine with above user’s expectations. However, Quick Edit in SharePoint Online doesn’t work like that. Once user changes the Status to Done, then they sort/filter, that item will disappear (filtered out by the view’s condition) then user can’t review the item.
As for this issue, we’re looking forward to your advice.

You can create the new list view type based on "DataSheet" template and made it default view on your SPOnline site.
