I recieved a headset for christmas and was trying to put it on My compute, it crashed My system so I removed all of it  Now when I plug My old headset in the Mic wont work. I have gone through all the sound setting on W7, I have also run My MB disk a repair disk ant eveyrthing I could think of. I have a feeling the Line in port in the back of My computer has been deactivated somehow and I dont know how to get it back on line.

uninstall you sound driver......than reinstall the driver.... make sure you get the correct driver for your M/board,

make sure you turn OFF your anti virus when install the driver.
