I an using Windows 7. Until yesterday I was able to start regedit via Search field in the Start Menu. then I was having some problms with a rogue program Win7 Security that atthed itself to my PC and started sending out annoying and misleading infor about trojans and malware in my system. In trying to remove this I ran a regedit program with the entry

However I did not check what the default seeting for this key was before running the commend (bad idea). NOw I find I can no longer access Regdit.  Also another annoying feature is that every time I want to open a program via its icon I have to right click and use the "run as adminstrator" option - if I just double click then I get a pop-up window saying "choose the program you wish to run this file with", and then I have to select this from the installed list of program files. Could all this have happened just because of the registry key I changed?
