I have windows-XP professional SP-3 as the OS. In fact, this had to be re-installed afresh on my desktop because of some repairs that had to be undertaken on my hardware about a month ago. Since then, whenever I start windows, the system32 folder opens up. It shows no contents (contents are hidden) and a message on the box says that "You should not make changes to anything in this folder etc.etc.etc.etc." Of course, I can simply close this and then continue working - therefore it is not a very big problem.
