We are actually using SharePoint 2016. But I can't locate a SharePoint 2016 General Discussions and Questions forum, so I will post my question here instead.

We just copied a subsite to create another subsite (as a backup) using Content and Structure interface.  The new subsite was created but failed and some records were not copied over. We manually copied those records over.

I also noticed the left hand quick launch navigation structure was missing too. The Quick Launch option is checked under Site Setting.  However, the only item we see on the left land menu is Site Contents.

I tried to recreate the navigation structure in the Navigation Settings page, after I click on the Save button, no errors, but quick launch menu still just showing Site Content only.  Strangely, when I go back to Navigation Settings page, I lost all my updates in the Navigation Structure.

I don't have this issue in the source subsite that we copied from.
