I have an Onkyo home theater receiver that has both a primary zone (optical interface) and a zone 2 that accepts only analog input.  I just built a system with the Gigabyte GB-P35DQ6 motherboard, but am disappointed in general with audio.  I have had to roll the drivers several times, finally downloaded the Realtek 64 drivers from the Gigabyte page (MS HD drivers did not work at all).

I have been able to get unconsistent optical output, more consistent analog, but never both.  My zone 2 runs all the rooms away from the home theater, so now my MC server is not able to play music in those rooms.  I previously had a different media server with XP MC and  it accomplished this capability just fine.  I thought I would be adding functionality with Vista, not degrading it.  Very disappointing indeed.

I used to have this working ever since I installed vista in November. Reinstalled yesterday after an update completely screwed up my network connections (missing files, failing services). Now I can't get it right.

Very frustrating...
