I am trying to access the USB port on my Phone 8 Device - but I have not found any way to go about this.

There isn't a programmatic interface for transferring data specifically via the USB port. Though the WP8 will manifest itself as a storage device in File Explorer, under the Computer folder.

1. You can transfer data via wireless networking (WiFi or Bluetooth) if you write a WP8 app for it
