Hello,

I am creating a SharePoint (2013) for my company and using the discussion board as a place for people to ask questions and answers regarding certain topics. I've been playing with the out of the box functionality and can only seem to get email notifications for the discussion board as a whole... Is there a way to set up email notifications for certain people according to a category?

Ex:

• User A is an expert in category A.
• User B is an expert in category B.

Yes, we can send email notification to certain people according to a category by creating a workflow.

We can create a choice column named "Type1" and add value as "categoryA" and "categoryB".
