I work on a asp.net website targeting .net 4 with visual studio 2010. Recently my windows (windows XP) stops working during debuging (It does not happen always, but about 2 times every hour!). windows stops refreshing the page, I can not even bring up task manager, the only thing which gets refreshed is when I press Alt+Tab. when this happen, the only way is to restart the computer by pressing and holding the shutdown/restart button.
we are using windows xp, Visual Studio 2010 and TFS.

It is not hardware issue, I have changed/tested the hardware and also my other coworkers having the same problem but less frequently.

I have tried googling the problem, but I could not find anything useful. So I am posting this here maybe someone has the same problem and found a solution.

To be more clear, as I mentioned before it has started happening recently without any major code changes, and it doesn''t seem to be a problem with the application. I have tryed every thing and to me it seems to be some incompatibility with windows XP (maybe some of the recent patches)and VS2010

Any idea?

XP? Hm… Normally, is should not happen. Could be viruses or… who knows what? You system might be seriously screwed up. I would reinstall the whole system immediately. As a bonus, you will see very soon if this is a hardware problem or not, clean up your hard drive, get some more experience, etc.
