I tried to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition but installation failed with unhelpful error messages. Website enquiry suggested installing a program called collect.exe which is supposed to produce a log of the installation. Installation of collect.exe was reported to be successful but there is no trace of such a program on my machine. I set about as far as possible reversing the installation of VS as parts of it seem to be present. Accounts of nightmares of uninstalling VS have frightened me off VS. Probably parts of it are on my machine but they will have to stay there as I have a life to lead. Is there any reason why I should proceed trying to install VS?
