We are in the process of building highly customized Intranet landing page on SharePoint Online.Landing page comprises of 8-9 web-parts where we pull data from SharePoint lists, picture libraries, RSS feeds etc.

So we would like to understand whether is it a good idea to build all these web parts using SPFX framework. If so what are PROS & CONS. Any other suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Please note that we would like to leverage classic page as we have customized master-page with custom breadcrumb (driven from XML file).

It is a good ideal to build web parts using SPFX framework.

If you are not familiar with SPFX, I suggest you to use conventional way like visual web part because it needs to cost time learning SPFX unless you have a lot of time.
